santos.rayanthony@gmail.com BioHi, this is Ray, aka admiralnew. The screen name comes from a game where you play as an admiral and the default username is New. The first time I played the game, I didn't change my user name so I ended up with Admiral New. I've been using the screen name consistently ever since.
I used to have another LJ but deleted it after outgrowing it. I use this account primarily for communities, though I post something personal from time to time, mostly drawings that end up in DeviantArt, or pictures that end up in Multiply. I do much of my blogging on Multiply, too.
I currently work for the BPO of a major insurance company, though I'm planning on resigning soon. My training is, after all, in literature, and my interests lean towards the arts, so insurance really isn't my thing. My life in the corporate world, however, has taught me to treasure professionalism, something that too many artists and writers tend to lack. I'd like to get back to the academe and teach, but not too soon, because the school environment tends to be cloistered and synthetic.
Family and friends have been pestering me to get into law. Maybe I will. I'd love to take some courses on graphic design as well. Pencils and Photoshop have always been good friends. In the long run, I want to take a master's course on Cultural Studies, and do some research on Philippine and Southeast Asian literature. Too many of us are much too in love with other societies, we forget our country and region offer a rich culture as well.
